Faithful over Pressure

"Pressure is part of life — but it does not have to be the end of your story."

That one service:

I have been to a lot of Legacy Nights. But that one service stayed with me.

The guest speaker was Bro. Phil Manzanilla, and the theme he brought was simple but heavy: Pressure Proof.

He did not open with a feel-good story. He opened with the truth — that every single one of us goes through challenges. No exceptions. Not because God is absent, but because pressure is just part of life.

Job and Jesus:

Bro. Phil Manzanilla pointed us to Job. Most of us already know how that story goes. Job lost everything — his family, his health, everything he had built. The kind of suffering that would make most people walk away from God entirely.

But Job did not walk away. He stayed. He held on. And through all of it, he remained faithful.

Then Bro. Phil said something that hit differently.

Even Jesus faced pressure.

That stopped me. We talk about Jesus so often that sometimes we forget He was fully human in the middle of all of it — feeling the weight of what was ahead, sweating in Gethsemane, carrying something no one else could carry. And through all of it, He still glorified God.

If Job could do it. If Jesus walked through it. Then we have no excuse to stay stuck under the weight of our own pressure.

What I realized:

Sitting there that night, I caught myself thinking about my own situation. The things I have been stressing about. The moments where the pressure felt like too much.

And I realized — I have been thinking about it all wrong.

Instead of asking why this is happening, the better question is: how do I respond to it? Job responded with faithfulness. Jesus responded with surrender to the Father. Both of them came out on the other side in a way that pointed to God, not to their circumstances.

God sees the effort. He does not miss it. Even when it feels like no one notices, even when the pressure does not let up — He sees.

So, never give up:

That is the word I am carrying from that night.

Not "everything will be easy." Not "the pressure will disappear." Just — keep moving forward. Keep showing up. Keep trusting the One who walked through far worse and still came out glorifying the Father.

You are more pressure proof than you think.
